POOR MAINTENANCE OF ZOO

THE ZOO IS BIGGER IN SIZE AND THE COLLECTION OF ANIMALS, ETC., ARE ALSO BIG. BUT THE ANIMALS BASICALLY ELEPHANT S CONDITION IS VERY WORST. THEY ARE

Negatives:
MAINTENANCE OF THE ZOO AND ANIMALS ESPECIALLY ELEPHANTS. THEY ARE NOT BATHED AND CONDITION OF THE PLACE IS VERY VERY POOR. AMONGST THE ZOO's.

Comments:
We came with very high expectation inside the Alipore Zoo. The crowd was overwhelming and I suggest the fee collected is not being utilized properly. Lot of dust, cleanliness of the Zoo is not at all there. It is very bad in condition. Elephants which are considered as human friendly are kept in such a worst condition and they are not even bathed for months together.

The place where Tigers are kept are also not cleaned properly. I am of the opinion that the amount collected is not properly utilized for the upkeep of the Zoo and its Animals, Birds and other Species. On the one hand public are kept informed that the existence of the animals is a question mark and we have to take care of them. This is ONLY by means of big advertisement sponsored by Banks in front of the Zoo. Otherwise the entire state of the Zoo needs some sort of remedial action or else the Animals may perish because of this sad state of affairs. Kolkata being such a populated City there is no dearth of funds for the Zoo Authorities.

Its really high time that IMMEDIATE steps are taken to ensure that these Animals are take care properly, fed properly (the food given is also not adequate).

Public Toilet inside the Zoo is not kept clean.
