Ajmer India Travel Guide

The city of Ajmer on Ana Sagar lake in Eastern Rajasthan is one of India’s most important Muslim pilgrimage centers. Ajmer is home to the Dargah Shrine of Khaja Muin-ud-din Chishti and the ruins of the Adhai-din-ka-Jhonpra mosque.

Ajmer is just 11km from Pushkar, which hosts the famous Pushkar Mela camel festival in November.  Ajmer is quite accessible by train as the Ajmer railway station is on the Delhi-Jaipur-Ahmedabad-Mumbai line.
