Chor Bazaar (Thieves' Market)By anonymous from Mumbai on Sep 06, 2005Category: Miscellaenous Directions: North of Crawford Market, along Motton Street in Mumbai Comments: Chor Bazaar literally means Thieves Market in Hindi. It's a collection of assorted stores selling anything and everything under the sun. Antiques, statues, paintings, leather goods, name it and you will find it in one of the shops here. Be careful though... it's called Thieves' Market for a reason. If they spot you for a bakra, they will fleece you so be prepared for some serious bargaining. If you're a foreigner you can be sure that the prices will be increased by atleast 50%-75%. Stick to your guns, bargaining is half the fun here... and there's no returning the goods if you change your mind. Traveller feedback for Chor Bazaar (Thieves' Market) |
