Gwalior India Travel Guide

The ancient and historic city of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh has a population more than 800,000 and is best known to tourists for Gwalior Fort, the hilltop fortress that looms 100km above the town. Gwalior hosts the Tansen Music Festival in November or December each year, attracting classical musicians and singers from all over India. Gwalior is 122km south of Agra, and its airport and railway station connect it to many cities in India. Gwalior is a four-hour train ride from Delhi.

Damp smell throughout hotel air conditioning system, out of our party 60 fell ill with food poisoning and D & V. Most of the meals were served with raw meat ( chicken )in them. Swimming pool was unusable during our three week stay. Loud functions outside virtually every night and road traffic noise. One of the cleaners was caught rumaging in luggage ( management dismissed him immediately ).
