It is one of the finest monuments in Gujarat. The stepwell is laid out in the North-South direction. The entrance to the stepwell is from the south and the well is in the North. The total length of the stepwell is 75.3 meters and it is five stories deep. It is full of artistic sculptures on walls on all the sides. The stepwell has three entrances to enter in.There are four built in shrines with doors, windows and balconies which mark the four sides of the platform which is resting on 16 pillars. The stepwell, not only conserved water but also provided cool chambers for the people to rest during the very hot months of the summer.
