Also, a very popular Delhi thing to do amongst the locals to celebrate New Year's Eve.To direct someone to Connaught Place in Delhi is simple, as it’s literally the centre of the city. It’s where Delhi appears to grow outwards into the busy cosmopolitan that it is. Its layout is very well planned out. Robert Tor Russell in collaboration with WH Nicholls designed Connaught Place, which is essentially two concentric circles of colonnaded verandas. In between these structures is a huge garden used today as a short cut by the weary shoppers, and is also home to numerous small time artifact and food stalls. A must see is the week long winter festival that Connaught Place has, wooing its customers with great discounts, music shows, magic show and other festivities. A haven for the resilient shopper, Connaught Place always has and continues to be Delhi’s most preferred commercial area.Although seemingly well planned, some shops in Connaught Place are almost impossible to approach due to new one way laws and regular traffic snarls. Partially closed on Sundays, Connaught Place is an absolute must see for anyone in the capital.Connaught Place in Delhi is also where a growing number of teenagers and young adults alike come to celebrate the New Year. It's one of the more happening places in Delhi to welcome in the New Year.
