Delhi Nightlife

Nightlife in New Delhi is definitely not on par with that of Mumbai. One reason is that liquor licenses in Delhi are much harder and more expensive to obtain than in other major cities. However, Delhi does have a few good nightclubs and bars in South Delhi, Basant Lok, and Defence Colony areas.

Ministry of Sound (MoS) is a nightclub in Elephant and Castle, Southwark, South London. Officially opened in 1992 after weeks of 'secret' club nights, the Ministry had already been packed out through word-of-mouth. Decibel
Decibel is located in the Samrat Hotel, and is a pretty large club in Delhi. It's membership-by-invitation-only, so it's hard to get into this nightlife hotspot. The club spans two floors and has about four-thousand square feet of space. The décor is an interesting mix of pink and black, with wood, leather and steel construction. Fabric
Fabric is one of the biggest clubs in the country, boasting approximately seventeen thousand square feet of space spread over two floors. It has three bars, the main bar being a seventy-foot monstrosity. The club doesn't serve dinner, but you can order snacks. Best bet is to have dinner first, though, as the scene doesn't pickup till late in the night. The music is mostly psychedelic trance stuff.
Athena
Athena, the famous Mumbai bar, has opened a Delhi version. Like its sister club in Mumbai, the Athena ambience is good and the drinks are expensive. The club is located in the Park Royal Hotel.
